About
I'm Jose Miguel Sanchiz, founder of Hoopytech — an applied AI lab based in Castellón, Spain — and CAIO at Mindden, where I lead AI strategy for a portfolio of 20+ enterprise accounts.
My background is unusual for a C-suite AI role: I've spent 15+ years building infrastructure and distributed systems before moving into AI. This means I don't just design strategies that sound good in a boardroom — I architect systems that survive contact with production.
I lead a team of 5 at Hoopytech, with active research in bio-inspired neural networks, causal inference, and process mining. We train our own small language models and build every component in-house.
When I'm not embedded in a client's leadership team, I'm either training models, contributing to open-source AI research, or building the next version of our autonomous agent platform.
